Get FRESH Challenge Week one!

We have now officially completed week one of the Get FRESH Challenge and I am dying to know how everyone did?! Did you make it through the first 7 days? Did you get in at least 20 minutes of activity? What has been the biggest surprise? We want to hear your stories! Thanks to those who have been tweeting your workouts, I have loved seeing the #getFRESH tag out there in Twitterland and following along. Keep it up!

For me, personally, I did complete it and I truly enjoyed it. I have to be honest though and admit that on my non-running days, I did the bare minimum and got in 20ish minutes of activity and not much more. But I did it! I did yoga 3 times and had so much fun. I tried three different yoga videos that I checked out from the library and liked 2 out of the 3. On one of the days I even got my husband to join me and my 2 year old attempted some of the moves before getting a little bored and needy of some attention. It was an entertaining family yoga session to say the least!

I look forward to what the next week holds and do see some warmer weather in the forecast so hopefully some family walks are in store.

So remember all those curve balls I warned you of last week? Well, I got hit right in the face with one this week. On Monday I squeaked out my run but wasn't feeling well. By Monday night I had a fever and chills. The doc on Tuesday confirmed that I had the flu virus and benched me until I was well. I didn't get up from the couch until Friday. I managed to workout the rest of the week but nothing really felt good. The symptoms were all gone, but what was left was one tired mama. Cheers to a new week! Hoping all our Get FRESH participants stay healthy!

  1. I had a great week!! #getFRESH has helped me start to become more consistent in my running! I ran 6 out of 7 days this week - a first for me, I think! Three days I ran with my 7 year old as he trains for an upcoming 5K (his second). On the days when I didn't run (last Sunday and yesterday), I did a lot of walking around while wearing my baby, and that's a good workout in itself!! Looking forward to week 2!

  2. I managed to get in hard workouts 5 out of the 7 days last week! The weekend was super busy, and I felt really active, although I didn't technically "workout" Saturday or Sunday. I'm travelling for work this week so I am hoping I stay atcive and energized on the road. We will see:)!

  3. My first week went great considering I was battling a stomach bug most of the 7 days, but it actually helped me get rid of my aches/pains. I've mixed running with workouts at home thus far. I am committed to this challenge and 20mins really goes by fast if you don't even think about it! At the moment my life is a bit hectic, getting ready for a move overseas, so stopping to workout each day is just what I need. I haven't missed a day and I hope it stays that way!
