I was living in Vancouver, BC which is such a healthy and motivating place to live. Everyone is fit, there are amazing trails to run, the scenery is gorgeous and it never gets too hot. This 10k was called the Richmond Flatlands 10k. Did you say flat? Sign me up!
I ran it by myself and it rained the entire run and my pony tail was just one large "dread" at the end but it was such an awesome experience and the race that truly set me on my course of bring a runner.

I do. I was running for my high school cross country team and it was the Seaside Invitational. My coach bumped me straight to varsity as a first time sophomore and it freaked me out A LOT. The 800m on the dry sand almost killed me, but I still got a time just above 24 minutes, so I was thrilled!
ReplyDeleteyou look like such a baby! love it!
ReplyDeleteI wish my memory was good enough to remember my first race! Looks like you caught the bug way back in 2006! I should really start a race memory book so I can recall these fun events!
